Web Design

Tools Used

Bluehost, Wordpress, Elementor, Canva

Context

Luna of Cairo is a performer who previously lived and worked in Egypt for over a decade. She returned to the U.S. two years ago and has recently begun teaching and performing in Florida. Due to relocating, she has struggled with managing her website and branding. She requested that I build her website and online shop and migrate her blog content to her current website.

Conditions

Upon assisting Luna with the project, I found she already selected a webhost, Bluehost, and a web domain. Bluehost utilizes Wordpress for site creation and management.  Luna conveyed to me her design ideas and provided examples based on other performer websites. At her request, I created the website based on the examples and style requirements.

Scope

Design a website to house Luna’s dance portfolio and blog. This website will also be used to promote her Arabic translation business.

Role

For this project, I worked as both a consultant and developer. To begin, I discussed with her requirements, concerns, the current state of her website and branding, and ideals. Afterwards, I reviewed her website and social media to develop an understanding of her work and style. I created wireframe mock-ups as we discussed ideas for the website. After she selected the desired layout, I began developing. She and I remained in contact throughout the process and discussed any questions or requests.
